CAMHS Caseload Sheets

Significant changes have been made to the CAMHS caseload collection for the 2009/10 exercise. A number of fields have be removed from the collection to reduce the burden of the exercise, including the case characteristic section on the age, gender, ethnicity, primary presentation and referral source of the cases.

Team caseload data is required for the period 1-30th November 2009 for tier 2 and 3 teams (generic, targeted and dedicated worker teams) and 1st June to 30th November 2009 for tier 4 team/units. The following fields are being collected in the 2009/10 mapping exercise:

1) Caseload information by area

The following questions relate to the active team caseload in the sample period. For local teams you are asked to record the cases by the area (PCT/LA) the case comes from:

  • Cases worked with
  • LAC
  • Youth offender
  • Learning disabled
  • Case new in the sample period
  • Waited 18 weeks (only for new cases)

2) Caseload data by team

The following questions are asked at the team level:

  • Total number of consultations in the sample period
  • Total number on waiting list on 30th November
  • Total number of cases on team books on 30th November
  • Total number of referrals received (1st Jan to 31st December 2009)
  • Total number of referrals accepted (1st Jan to 31st December 2009)

We hope that you can access the required data from an already existing information system, but if you need to gather the data an excel workbook has been developed for this purpose. To download a copy of the caseload sheet and associated guidance follow the links below:

Note: We are aware that some people are having difficulties downloading the excel collection sheets. We have tried downloading these from a number of computers within and outside of the University network and cannot replicate the problem. Please email us (help@childrensmapping.org.uk) if you cannot access the collection sheets and we will send a copy to you.

Note: The guidance for the referrals received and accepted questions have been updated. The question headings always read 2009, but the text below incorrectly stated 2008 and has now been corrected to read 2009.
